Penang Trip 2008(Chapter 3-Penang Breakfast, Thai & Myanmar Buddhist Temple, New World Park, Gurney Hawker Centre)

Penang Breakfast

Last day in Penang, we woke up around 9.30 a.m then chit chat in the dining room. After everyone get ready, we were going to explore Penang again, yeah!

First of all, Yann Meh brought us to have our breakfast. Everyone ordered their own breakfast, ranging from asam laksa, prawn mee, chicken rice to Penang Rojak. If you feel hungry now, remember not to looking at the photos below, if not, you will be more hungry, haha.

Thai & Myanmar Buddhist Temple

After breakfast, so we visited Thai & Myanmar Buddhist Temple that are quite famous in Penang. Both temples are situated at the same road, just opposite each other.

We walked around the Thai Buddhist Temple around 1 hour, then we went to Myanmar Buddhist Temple and continued to explore and learn the culture and history in the temple.

We have taken a lot of photos there and there is a huge fish pond where there were many types of fish. We just relaxed there and looking at the fish.

New World Park

New World Park is a new hawker centre where there is a famous ABC stall that has been up in local food programme – “Ho Chiak”. Let’s have a look at the delicious food here… The All-In-One ABC (with variety of fruit slices added) costs RM3.80.

At the same time, my Penang friends – Yong Cheng and Yang Mooi came to find me as i brought a secret document for one of them, haha. Mission completed! We were having our lunch at nearby Old Town Cafe.

Gurney Hawker Centre (新关仔角)

Gurney, is a well-known tourist and food heaven in Penang. We came to Gurney Hawker Centre to have our dinner where we ate a lot of food here before going to take our bus to Kuala Lumpur tonight.

Finally we finished our dinner… and it’s time to leave Penang. Before going back, we took a photo in front of the Gurney Landmark – a roundabout. Cheers!
