Penang Trip 2008(Chapter 2-Dim Sum Breakfast, Joo Hooi Asam Laksa & Cendol, Kek Lok Si Temple, Ikan Bakar Dinner, Batu Ferringhi Beach)

Dim Sum Breakfast

The first breakfast in Penang – “Dim Sum”, it’s a self-service style dim sum shop, where we can go and take whatever dim sum we like from the counter or sit and wait for the dim sum trolley coming there. So special… haha.

After having our breakfast, we have packed into Ee Ching’s car and we felt like sardine fish tin. Haha. Luckily, Yann Meh has helped us from this… if not, our another newly joined friend – “Li Yin” would have to sit in the car bonnet.

Joo Hooi Asam Laksa

Our next station is “Joo Hooi Asam Laksa & Cendol” where we had our lunch here. Penang is famous for its Asam Laksa, however this shop service is not good and not friendly, although the asam laksa here tastes good.

Kek Lok Si Temple (极乐寺)

Kek Lok Si Temple is a must and famous tourist spot in Penang, and there are a lof of sourvenirs shops along the way to the temple. But remember here you must always bargain the price, at least you can get 50% or more less than original price for most of the items based on my experience, haha.

Let’s see the photos that we had taken…

So hot the sun out there.. i felt like i was in the sauna room. On the way going down, many of us have bought some keychains and T-Shirt there.

Ikan Bakar Dinner

This dinner definitely is the most unforgettable dinner we had in Penang because we were extremely hungry after a whole day go there and here and “exercise” a lot. Haha. And the most incredible thing is we have finished the starter – “Fried Sotong” in 3 minutes time as everyone cannot stand anymore… We could hear our stomache were roaring to protes!

Finally the our dinner is ready.. let’s have a look on what we ate tonight.

Batu Ferringhi Beach

After eating the dinner, we have come out the idea to go walk along the beach at Batu Ferringhi and listen to the sound of wave while chit chat together. The sky that night was full of tiny little star… hehe.
