Ban Heong Seng Restaurant, Johor Bahru (Beggar Chicken)
Ban Heong Seng Restaurant (万香城餐馆) is famous with its beggar style dishes such as Beggar Chicken (叫化鸡), No-bone Fish(无骨鱼), Oyster Rice (枕头饭),Forever-young Soup (长生不老汤) and so on.
I have tried before the beggar style food in Jugra, Banting before, so i would like to try this one in Johor Bahru. If you plan to pay a visit here, please book 1 day in advance, if not, you probably get nothing, haha.

Hi, I’m just curious, why is it called beggar style food? Does it mean great food and very cheap price?
actually it’s originated from a folklore, legend, or story.

Hi, I tried to google the address and there is 2 location. Is this place behind Dunga Bay?
yup, it’s next to Singgah Selalu Restaurant after Danga Bay there.
Just went to this place and I had the same dishes as you! Posted the pics in my food blog too. This place is indeed a hidden gem! – Greetings from S’pore
