Ban Heong Seng Restaurant, Johor Bahru (Beggar Chicken)

Ban Heong Seng Restaurant (万香城餐馆) is famous with its beggar style dishes such as Beggar Chicken (叫化鸡), No-bone Fish(无骨鱼), Oyster Rice (枕头饭),Forever-young Soup (长生不老汤) and so on.

I have tried before the beggar style food in Jugra, Banting before, so i would like to try this one in Johor Bahru. If you plan to pay a visit here, please book 1 day in advance, if not, you probably get nothing, haha.

Address :34-B,Jalan Skudai,Batu 3 1/4,Off Tahar,80200 Johor Bahru,Johor.

  1. Hi, I’m just curious, why is it called beggar style food? Does it mean great food and very cheap price? :)

  2. terrytsang says:

actually it’s originated from a folklore, legend, or story.
